Is Skills still open and operating?
Yes, Skills will be operating during normal business hours, but the Skills downtown office will not be open for visitors. Skills’ staff is working remotely and eager to help. All interviews and meetings will be conducted using video conferencing tools such as Skype, Teams, Zoom, FaceTime, etc. If these tools are unavailable to you, please call us at 312.906.7200 and we will work with you to make alternative arrangements.
I'm looking for a job on the Skills website, but can't find a role that's right for me. Can I be considered for future open roles?

Are all hiring events canceled and/or postponed?

I signed up for an info session for a career development/education program. Will those sessions be canceled?
No, info sessions are not canceled, they will now be available virtually. A program representative will be reaching out to you for further instructions. If you have any questions, call us at 312.906.7200.
If I’m invited for an in-person job interview with a company, how can I follow safe social distancing protocols?
Social distancing actions are taken to stop or slow the spread of COVID-19 (or other infectious diseases) in communities. Per the Illinois Department of Public of Health (IDPH), avoid using handshakes as greetings, always try to stay about six feet apart from others, wash hands (or use hand sanitizer) before and after each interview, etc. Visit the IDPH website for more information.
