Position Descriptions:
The opportunities listed below are general summaries of the entry level positions at Jewel Food Stores. They are not meant to be an all-inclusive list of duties, just an overview. All positions require that a person must:

  • Be able to assume hours and duties of position within seven (7) days
  • Meet minimum age requirement
  • Be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodations
  • Be able to work at the store where the opening exists

Front End Service Clerk: Provides courteous customer service, bags groceries, retrieves carts, and assists in maintaining the front end of the store, cleans and maintains others surfaces of the store, collects and return overstock, empties garbage.

Cashier: Provides courteous customer service: operates sales register, identifies and weighs produce, totals customer’s purchase, collects all forms of payment, counts out change, gives customer the receipt, bags groceries, accurately counts cash drawer, follows security procedures.

General Grocery/Produce Clerk: Provides courteous customer service, processes deliveries, removes products with expired shelf life, inspects shelf stock and displays product, cleans work areas, follows Company policies on freshness dating, consolidates and organizes products.

Night Crew Clerk: Performs all duties of a General Grocery clerk during the overnight shifts. Typical shifts can be anywhere from 10pm until 7am.

Floral Clerk: Provides courteous customer service, wraps, stocks, maintains quality, and displays Floral products, weighs and prices products, receives and verifies product deliveries, inspects products for quality and freshness, cleans and sanitizes work areas.

Bakery Clerk: Provides courteous customer service, prepares and maintains Bake Shop freshness and quality, prepares and processes deliveries, slices, packages, labels, prices, and displays products, inspects products for quality and freshness, cleans and sanitizes bakery area, prepares and updates documentation. Must be at least 18 years old.

Deli Clerk: Provides courteous customer service, cuts, weighs, wraps, and prices Deli products for sale, prepares and processes items for sale, cleans and sanitizes work area, receives products, prepares and completes documentation. Must be at least 18 years old.

Meat Wrapper: Provides courteous customer service, processes meat and seafood products, receives, wraps, stocks, rotates, removes and displays meat and seafood products, prepares Seafood trays, maintains a clean and sanitary work area, updates price changes. Must be at least 18 years old.

Meat Apprentice: Provides courteous customer service, cuts and trims fresh meat, stocks, rotates, removes and displays fresh meat, weighs, labels, prices and wraps fresh meat, maintains a clean and sanitary work area, prepares and completes documentation. Must be at least 18 years old.

Barista: Provides courteous customer service, retrieves, prepares, and packages coffee bar goods per customer request and to put out on display, handles beverages and food in a safe manner and ensures the sales floor and processing areas are clean, sanitary, fresh, and full.

Location:
Belmont Cragin/Hermosa/Logan Square and surrounding areas
